Hi,
Is the screenshot in this blog post the of the model you made in 3DVIA Shape?
Yes it is.
Thanks for reading…
Hi Matt (or should that be Maxi Matt?),
You have a great collection of starships! And all done in 3DVIA Shape – pretty amazing. Would you be interested in doing some tutorials on how you constructed some of them?
Thanks,
Don
Hi Don, thanks for reading.
I suppose I could be persuaded to do a few tutorials. What specifically are you looking for? Do you want me to create a model and record it as I go with commentary? That would be relatively quick and simple. If you are looking for a more directed tutorial (ex: “How to create a coffee cup?”) then I may not be able to do it. The nice thing about space ships is that nobody knows what they are supposed to look like.
For the weapons test, it says “only the last score will count”, can that be changed to “only the highest score will count”. It would be frustrating to get a 90%, try again for a better score, get 85% and have that erase my best score.

Juan,
That makes sense. I wanted there to be a risk involved in making that decision (to try again).
I am hoping people don’t spend a lot of time in the testing section. It is mostly to eliminate training levels for people who don’t need them.
For now, I am still a long time before I get to this step. I will probably make that decision at the time I code it.
Hi,
Your blog looks pretty good, congrats for this work !
As I have a WordPress blog, and working sometimes with catia, I will be very interested by implented 3D things in my blog..
Could it be possible you tell me how did you embedded th 3D shapes in your blog ??
Many thanks for your answer
Cheers, Olivier
Greetings.
I put in a request to wordpress to allow for the use of the iframe widget from 3dvia.com I’m not sure if they have, or will, add 3dvia as an allowable iframes target. But for now, I have simply taken screen prints from 3dvia.com and cropped them and embedded them as pictures. Not exactly an elegant solution, but it worked.
Thanks,
Matt
That’s sound good ! Thanks for the info ..
Cheers, Olivier
