Random Thoughts for Random People

Part 23 of 31 – Superbowl Pick – New Orleans Saints

Last year the Saints came very close to winning it all.  Granted they got a gift from the Texans when the Texans took Mario Williams instead of Reggie Bush.

Granted, I don’t usually like the “Obvious #1 Pick” in the draft.  They seem to flop in the NFL just as often as a 6th round pick.

But I like to pick random reasons for picking a team to win the Superbowl.  In this case the reasons are obvious.

New Orleans has recovered a great deal from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, but there is still more work to be done.  The better the Saints do, the more funding will be funnelled in to the area.  Not to mention the good morale provided to the citizens of the area by a winning football team.  Those people with the star on their helmet may have the copy-write, but I think that the Saints have become “America’s Team”.
